My Studio Red Door - Janette Wotherspoon.
My studio red door provides specialised training, individual tutoring and small group "Sip and Make" workshops within the Ballarat region. My mantra is to teach you what you want to know at the pace you want to learn. My name is Janette Wotherspoon and I'm a Ballarat based designer with a love for sewing, textiles and the wonderful world of all things hand made and craft. My professional work is teaching Computer aided design for fashion and textiles at RMIT University. My own artwork is inspired by my love of patterns within the environment, printed textiles and the aesthetic of Melbourne. I work with another artist Anne Langdon from Printscape producing screen printed designs for fashion and accessories. A combination of all things that I love to do. My Studio Red Door supports progressive development of new skills and a learning vision that empowers people to grow creatively and with individuality.

Wednesday 19th - I will be making paper dresses with two lovely ladies at the Haddon Community Centre. There are still spaces available for the class if anyone is interested in getting wild with paper and glue. Maybe you could enter the Fashion Remix Exhibition next February. Find out more through the City of Ballarat Artefacts newsletter.
I had a fantastic day with the the Clunes Neighbourhood House, printing fabrics with bright colours, random shapes and drawings developed onto RISO. What a fun afternoon, messy and noisy and creative. Next Saturday I am teaching basic sewing in Clunes. We will make the printed fabric into product. There are still spaces available so if you want to learn some great basic sewing tips, making bags, cushions, revamping your favourite clothing, make a booking at Clunes Neighbourhood House.
Everything is ready for the Sip and Make Macrame Necklace workshop at Moss and Burrows - Daylesford on Saturday. Should be great fun.
