A big few days for the NCA and the #BowenPlaceCrossing project team! The project architects, Lahznimmo Architects, won the coveted Canberra Medallion and the Sir John Overall Award for Urban Design at The Australian Institute of Architects ACT 2016 Awards on Saturday night. The Master Builders Association of the ACT Civil Works Award was also presented to the project's Building Contractor, Woden Contractors, last Friday night as well as the Civil Contractors Federation’s Category 3 Award in May 2016. Great acknowledgements for delivering an elegant urban design solution for Canberrans at #BowenPlaceCrossing, setting a benchmark for projects encouraging activity & life in the Parliamentary Zone. The project will now go on to The Australian Institute of Architects' National Awards in November. Fingers crossed!! #watchthisspace

The NCA wishes to advise motorists and other road users of temporary lane closures tomorrow from 9.30 am - 4.30 pm at Capital Circle/Adelaide Avenue southbound lanes due to remedial works on the inside road safety barriers. Cyclists will be required to dismount when approaching the works site.

#ScrivenerDam flood operations have now ended. We have some interesting statistics to show just how much water was discharged over the operational period - pretty impressive!
The third flood gate at Scrivener Dam is now in operation. At its peak at 1.40pm, the Dam was discharging 465 cubic metres of water per sec.
Two flood gates in operation at Scrivener Dam to ensure Lake Burley Griffin's water level is managed. The public is reminded to stay well clear of crossings south of the dam and other storm water drains, ponds, lakes and flooded cycleways. For SES assistance call 132 500.
