NCCRC seeks to establish a right to counsel for indigent litigants in civil cases involving basic human needs.
Founded in 2003 and organized/funded by the Public Justice Center, NCCRC is an association of roughly 280 participants from 38 different states, with participants including representatives from legal services, state bar associations, access to justice commissions, academia, and public interest law firms. NCCRC's participants are committed to furthering the right to counsel in civil cases involving basic human needs through a variety of state/local strategies that include litigation, legislation, and advocacy.
