The NCPDA was founded in 1968 by Rev. Devore Walterman, Executive Director of Teen Challenge, San Francisco along with his assistant Rev. Larry Moore. The staff members are well accepted by the students and faculty because of their knowledge and former lifestyles. The council has reached approximately a million students per year in the United States. The program expanded to all branches of the military worldwide. The program goals for the NCPDA are as follows: *to teach students how to make better choicesbased on NCPDA testimonies *to develop an open dialogue for relevant teen issues such as cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, gangs, etc. *to give students real liofe consequences of drug and alcohol abuse *to encourage students to ask questions and improve the rapport between students and school staff and administration
