General Info

Our activities are aimed at developing leadership skills among our members, promoting civic participation and education, advancing coalitions and community building and fostering cultural heritage. We are involved in many community service projects with other nonprofit organizations. Our largest event and fundraiser is the Vietnamese Heritage Festival (VietFest). Our funds will support Vietnamese American leadership programs, train our members to become community leaders, provide grants and scholarships to young or accomplished leaders, and promote the growth of NOVAL.

For anyone interested: WHIAAPI Seeks Volunteers for AAPI Photo Shoot The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI) is currently recruiting Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) volunteer models of all ages for a photo shoot on Saturday July 26, 2014 from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM in Arlington, Virginia. We are looking to capture fresh images in both professional and leisurely settings to represent our diverse and lively AAPI communities. While models will not be compensated, breakfast and lunch will be provided and volunteers may see their photos featured in future government publications. If you are interested, please send a current, unedited headshot to Michelle.Cho@ed.gov, with your name, age, ethnicity, and availability on Saturday, July 26, from 8AM-3PM. Please note that volunteers will be required to sign a release form.
