The purpose of NOW is to bring women into full equality in the mainstream of American society NOW. NOW is a multi-issue organization. Priority issues include abortion and reproductive rights, equal legal rights for women, especially the Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution, ending violence against women, lesbian rights and marriage equality, economic equity, diversity and ending racism. NOW in Texas has local chapters in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Montgomery County and a campus affiliates at UTSA and TAKUK.
