Nesel Packs is an entrepreneurial endeavour aimed at helping children affected by autism feel more comfortable in social and educational settings.
Nesel's goal as an organization is to help people feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations. Our first product is a backpack that is designed for people with autism spectrum condition so they can feel a sense of comfort with them at all times whether they be on the bus to school, in the hallways at school, or wherever people might wear a backpack. We designed our backpack after conducting research with the help of a few of the top autism research institutions in the nation. We are a group of University of Minnesota students who have a history of helping children succeed through small business entrepreneurship. Due to a lack of funding for a large production run, we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for manufacturing. Sign up for updates about our Kickstarter campaign on our website and continue to help us spread awareness about autism spectrum condition. Thank you for your support!

If you've backed us on Kickstarter, here are the colors we are offering! A forest green, royal blue, purple, and then a pink. In this picture the pink looks a little red, but it's a strawberry/raspberry pink. And if you missed the Kickstarter, you can buy a Nesel Pack for pre-sale at www.neselpacks.com.
This week we presented to our Advisory Board at the University of Minnesota. We shared with them our progress so far and our plan moving forward to make Nesel Packs more available to people. They had some good questions and suggestions for us that really made us think! Thank you to our Advisory Board! :)
Thank you to our wonderful University for helping us make Nesel Packs possible and for all the doors it has opened for us! It's an exciting time for us as many of our founders will be graduating from the University of Minnesota in the coming weeks :)
Happy Friday Nesel Packs friends! Say hi to our co-founder Larry! He loves meeting new people & learning about their situation which has fueled his passion for interacting with the Nesel Packs community. Larry coordinates our Nesel Packs media outreach like our Facebook page and some of the articles you see in the news about us. We're thankful to have him on the team! :)
This would be wonderful for my Grandson, but I live in Canada. What about exchange, duty and shipping??? Thank you.
You can tell from his smile, Roland is quite a happy & loving guy! He wore the Nesel Pack for his sensory breaks during school and he loved how he could add weight to the internal pockets until it felt just right. Roland's teacher said he loved it so much it was hard to get it off him :) Thanks for trying it out and giving us your feedback Roland!
Check out our innovative friend Charles! He wears his backpack like this because he likes the hugging feeling it creates on his back and chest. While we appreciate Charles' innovative way of wearing his straps, this isn't the best for his back so Nesel Packs could be perfect by providing the hugging feeling while also redistributing the weight throughout his torso. Thanks for trying out the Nesel Pack Charles! :)
Hey Nesel Packs friends - say hi to our co-founder Jake! He found his passion for helping people living with disabilities when he volunteered as a Peer Behavior Model in his hometown of Aberdeen at 15 years old. As for Nesel, Jake has led our innovative projects like our Kickstarter video so we're thankful to have his creativity on the team :)
My son is 7 and is going to be in 2nd grade next year. Are these for specific ages and sizes of children or will this still be good for his age and size?
We couldn't have done this without you! Thank you so much for you support and enthusiasm for Nesel Packs 😊
"Look at how fast his mind changes gears. Look at the strangest things that he takes notice of. Pay close attention to the dinosaur he's holding. Pay attention to that Doctor that he looks at that sets off his breakdown. That's a lot of what most autistic people see. Certain things comfort us." -Quoted from a commenter
Say hello to our friend Rose! She came to the University of Minnesota from New York to study product design so she played a huge role in the prototyping of the Nesel Pack. Rose is a creator who loves to draw, write, & create music so we are thankful to have her creativity on our team! :)
We would like to say thank you to Battle Lake Outdoors for helping us to manufacture such a great backpack right here in Minnesota! We would also like to thank Fraser - Minnesota for helping us to get involved with the community! We couldn't have brought Nesel Packs to life without our partners so thank you! We look forward to the road ahead :)
Our Kickstarter officially concluded this morning! Thank you so much for your support everyone!! :) How does the road ahead look for Nesel Packs? We'll be finalizing our sizing, colors, and warranty over the next few weeks and distributing a a survey to our backers asking for their preferences. Then we'll be manufacturing and shipping our first run of Nesel Packs! :) We can't wait!!
Only 29 days ago we launched our Kickstarter - both nervous & excited. We are now less than 24 hours away from the end of our campaign & we cannot thank you enough! We will make over 200 backpacks for people around the world! :) This is also the last chance to pre-order a Nesel Pack or donate to our Kickstarter so please consider donating today! Thank you :)
Our son tried this on today and he keeps asking if we can go back and get him one!! Loved it
Great news! Yesterday we visited with our manufacturer and we're excited to announce our warranty program 😊 That's right, for 5 years the buckles, seams, zippers, normal wear and tear, it's all covered. However, we don't intend for Nesel Packs to be a service where you need to send your bag in every year. We're doing this because we believe in the durability of our backpacks! 🎒
Nesel Packs had a great morning at the Fraser - Minnesota Walk for Autism!! We had the opportunity to show our backpack to so many families 😊 check out some of our pictures here and look for a video in a little bit!
Today we met with the wonderful Occupational Therapists from the Stillwater Area Public Schools district! Their feedback and help went above and beyond! We truly cannot thank them enough!!! They will also be submitting a grant proposal for Nesel Packs for the Stillwater district!! :D Yay!! We want Nesel Packs in the hands of all students in need so that's fantastic!!
Less than 24 hours away, are you getting excited yet!? We sure are :) Come celebrate Fraser - Minnesota and the work they do!
Yesterday we reached $30k & we're thankful to have also received a donation of 25 backpacks to Fraser - Minnesota! That means we're that much closer to our $40k goal!! :) This Kickstarter will fund our first production run & orders placed there will have priority fulfillment. We will continue to manufacture the Nesel Pack, but they will not be available immediately after, as the Kickstarter will be taking most of our time for the next few months. This means that this is the last chance for a while to get your very own Nesel Pack! Especially if you would like to get a backpack before the school year starts :)
I'm really interested in the Nesel Pack for my little brother, who suffers from anxiety when he attends school. When will the backpacks be back in stock?
Amyra was the bright spot in our week & we hope she brightens your week too 😊 Amyra uses compression vests & a weighted blanket already so she's really looking forward to having a Nesel Pack! Thanks for visiting Amyra & family!! Please share this video and tag someone you think might like to try on the Nesel Pack in the comments below 😊
