Description
Founded as a non profit in 2003, and active in the community since 2001, New Ballet has raised children in a highly professional environment with excellence in training to earn scholarships in major dance departments in higher education, including NYU Tisch, U of Ga, U of OK, Ball State, Boston Conservatory, Baylor, Goucher, Richmond, Butler, Vanderbilt, Columbia College Chicago and more. Educational programs in Title 1 urban and rural schools as well as community venues serve tens of thousands annually. The Orange Mound program includes residency in Dunbar Elementary, a "striving school" and is funded privately. Students train three times per week to fast track into the NBE core program on scholarships.

In the Cooper Young historic neighborhood, a Community development district that borders two distinct economically diverse neighborhoods, the school is 40% minority; 30% of the student population is on free and reduced lunch with full scholarships. Financial aid to talented children whose families cannot afford tuition and fall below median income is also available. NBE Artists regularly tour schools with Arts integrated curriculum and performance to educate the community on the life of a professional artist. NBE artists hail from Memphis and remain here to put their talents to work! Classes begin at age 3. Pilates is offered to the community at an affordable cost.Company Rating
