New England Seacoast is a new NAVHDA chapter, serving the coastal areas of northern New England. We are based in Kennebunk Maine, but our members come from all over northern New England. Our goals are to provide more opportunities for training and testing, and to just get together and have fun with our dogs. We held our first planning meeting on November 14th. We poked around the potential training grounds, a 300ish-acre former dairy farm in Kennebunk. Everyone thought they would be nicely suited to our needs; the lands are nicely maintained, the owners are hunters themselves, and they are located a short distance from the highway, hotels, and other amenities needed during testing times. It was really fun watching the seven dogs we had with us racing around the fields, crashing through the woods and swimming gleefully in the beaver bogs. The potluck lunch we had afterward was pretty good, too.
