New Faith Free Methodist Church, located in beautiful St. Petersburg, FL, was founded in the July 1990 under the leadership of our current pastor, Rev. Curtiss L. Long. We started out having worship services in the home of our eldest member at the time, “Mama” Mattie Gardner with about 30 members after a split from a much larger congregation. After a few months, we began to hold services in the auditorium of a local Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sundays. Through faith and lots of prayer, we were able to purchase a building in 1993, where we currently hold worship services today.

Description

New Faith is a community church whose programs not only serves its members, but also reaches out to the inner city with a commitment to community youth and families. We provide a diverse array of programs and services designed to stimulate growth in a positive manner, build self esteem, and to give back to the community including a Boys Scout Troop & Cub Scout Pack, The Learning Lair, a children and youth tutoring program, Youth Counseling, Youth Reaching Out for Christ, which consists of teenage boys and girls who take the initiative themselves to help improve our city through feeding the homeless and providing care for the elderly, and also Made Free, a mixture of Christian Biblical principles, The Twelve Steps of recovery, R.E.T., and personal experiences, that provide the participants with an opportunity to address and resolve their issues spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
