The Plymouth Vermont Historical Society's mission is to collect, preserve and display locally significant historical materials which help establish and illustrate the history of Plymouth.
The General Society of Mayflower Descendants honors the 102 passengers who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620 at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) established itself as a non-profit in 1897. It is the mission of the Society to honor their Pilgrim ancestors who arrived in America aboard the Mayflower in 1620, and to join together the people who share this heritage. The Society has over 28,000 members around the world, with 52 societies representing all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. The national headquarters is in Plymouth, MA where the Society owns and operates a genealogy research library and the Mayflower Society House, an 18th century home originally built by Edward Winslow, a direct descendant of the pilgrim Edward Winslow, which is open for tours seasonally.
