NJCU is located in Jersey City, NJ just minutes away from New York City, giving you access to the world’s premier museums, art galleries, design studios, agents, curators, critics, and art collectors. Our programs leverage this proximity by giving you the practical knowledge you need to succeed in the art world. The faculty of the Art Department of New Jersey City University is committed to facilitating the outstanding achievement of every student in our program, to help each realize their goals, and to aid them in their development. Emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of the multiplicity of roles for the creative person in a contemporary urban society. Our program is dedicated to taking advantage of the cultural diversity of the greater metropolitan area. We recognize and stress the importance of balancing history and tradition with contemporary aesthetic ideas, skills, techniques and technologies. Our mission is to encourage the development of our students as artists, designers, scholars, and leaders capable of excelling in a complex, rapidly changing society. The NJCU Art Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Busy Place is a family owned and operated preschool located in the business district of Jersey City Heights, We are a state licensed center that offers a variety of childcare and educational programs for children age 0 to 9 years. Our staff that has decades of education and experience in the field. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. We stay open throughout the year. Busy Place provides wholesome meals and snacks for all children enrolled at the center at no extra cost to parents.
