Learn the ins and outs of creating a solid and memorable drag persona and performance piece.
The first series of the New Orleans Drag Workshop will start the first week of November with a Draguation Live Show in Mid December. I will be taking 10 to 12 students for this first round. The class is opened to first time performers as well as seasoned veterans. We will have 4 to 6 group meetings and I will work with the students on a one on one basis, depending on peoples various schedules. The term DRAG has different meaning to different people, and has become much more open to interpretation in recent years. For the sake of defining this class, the criteria are as follows. 1. You will choose and commit to a DRAG NAME 2. You will develop and/or refine your DRAG LOOK 3. You will choose a piece of music and create a Lipsynch performance around it 4. You will perform this piece in front of your fellow class mates and a live audience 5. You will have fun and work hard. This workshop is open to all adults of all genders and backgrounds and foregrounds. Please share this page with others that you think might be interested.
