Description

The New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy is a Type-2 Public Charter High School and accepts students from Orleans Parish and the surrounding parishes. It requires all students to be members of the Marine Corps JROTC. The school offers a rigorous academic curriculum through national standards, the LA Core 4, and the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum. NOMMA also offers leadership and social skills through its Character Counts program. These school components prepare students to qualify for TOPS and develop the learning and leadership skills necessary to compete on a national/global level for any post-secondary program or career experience they choose upon graduation. Students engage in project based learning, utilize technology, and contribute to the local community through scholastic and civic group projects.
