We would like to thank everyone for their hard work this weekend. Our Youth coach (Ken Justice) put it very well and we would like to share in his message to everyone: Great, Great weekend everyone! First and foremost, thank you everyone for all the help and support that you provide, I know it can be quite a lot of work at times, but giving these children these opportunities that you support, can never be quantified! Excellent showing from our kids today! What we expected to be just an early season light workout turned into a State qualifying caliber event or higher for many of our kids. While numbers weren't huge, the caliber of kids that attended where well above the bar. You have gained the respect of the wrestling community, and that in itself is something to be very proud of. My numbers may be a little off, as I feel like I missed some people, but out of 16 entries today, your Newark Wildcats place 12! Congratulations to Shawn Leach, Shane Leach, and Jaiden Dansby securing 4th place finishes, Jace Thompson, Kenny Poulnott, and Eli Justice winning 3rd place finishes, Kallan Baker, Keegan Mcdonald, William Fortune, and Andrew Scott, your Newark Open Runner-ups, and Jibreel Smith and Lake Moore, your Newark Open Champions! High school wrestlers: Henry Pham, Chase Lasko, Trystin Knotts, and Deasis White also competed and gained valuable mat time this weekend. Daily practices after school at Roosevelt for Junior High will be starting November 7th and the High School will be on November 14th. The 2014-2015 season is upon us!!!
Open mats tomorrow, Sun. 10/12 at 5:30pm at Roosevelt. All ages welcome.
