Description

NULHC comprises of five teams, four of which compete in the British Universities & and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competition every Wednesday and all compete in the regional and local leagues respectively on Saturdays. The 1st XI competes in the BUCS Northern 1A League, the 2nd XI and 3rd XI compete in the BUCS Northern Conference 3B League, whilst the 4th XI compete in the BUCS Northern Conference 5B League. The 1st XI competing in the North Women’s Hockey Division 2 East League, our 2nd XI, 3rd XI and 4th XI competing in the Northumberland Women's Hockey League A League and our 5th XI competing in the northumberland Women's Hockey League B League. In addition to our weekly matches and training sessions, the whole club comes together every Wednesday for a MASSIVE night out, where fancy dress is taken to whole a different level. We join the rest of the Newcastle University sports teams in Sam Jacks and Tiger Tiger, making it the BIGGEST and BEST night of your week. The calendar highlights to look out for are: STAN CALVERT - the most important game you will play in the season, in all day event where the whole university competes against arch-rivals Northumbria, followed by perhaps the busiest and best night out of the year. HOCKEY BALL - joining the Men's club for an attempt at sophistication, the Hockey Ball is not to be missed!
