Next Church is a vibrant faith community in downtown Kingston.
Come join us as we explore faith together, working out what it means to follow Jesus in the nitty gritty of everyday life, in social justice for the neighbourhood and the globe, and in arts and music.
To get a good feel for our community, try coming for three Sundays in a row.
We have different speakers, different music-styles and different service leaders each week, so visiting us three times will help you get the most accurate impression of our expression of faith.
Easter Celebrations at Next
We get really excited about Easter at Next Church.
Current events are bleak; and it’s easy to get discouraged about climate change, politics and personal challenges.
But at Easter, we are reminded of God’s authority; that God is making everything new, and we are invited.
Our new life, this new creation, began with Jesus’ resurrection, and we get to live in that hope each day.
GOOD FRIDAY (April 19):
• 7 PM: join us for a quiet, somber service at Next; followed by an Open Labyrinth Meditation Walk at 8 pm in the gym.
EASTER SUNDAY (April 21): There are three events taking place on Easter Sunday morning.
• 5:15 AM: At dawn, we will gather at Richardson Beach (by the gazebo at the end of Barrie Street on the water) for a sunrise service.
Note: feel free to bring your own lantern (glass jar with candle), we often don’t have enough to go around.
• 8 AM: we’ll have a Easter Morning Breakfast Feast
• 10 AM: we have our celebratory Sunday Morning Gathering (the only time of the year that our service starts on time).
