Nikhar Garg is a professional badminton player. Garg was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes when he was only eight years old and uses the insulin pump therapy to control his blood sugar levels. He is an ambassador for Medtronic and endorses their insulin pump. Nikhar has repeatedly urged the Government of India to provide free healthcare access to the patients suffering from Type-1 diabetes, stressing that the cost of Type-1 diabetes management is not affordable for majority of the Indian population suffering from the disease.
