Northwest Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum which integrates the art and science of massage therapy and bodywork. We encourage students to view massage therapy as a part of a well-rounded approach to healthcare. Students gain first-hand knowledge of other healthcare disciplines from experienced faculty members, who are leaders in their own field. Students learn how massage treatments can compliment acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic and allopathic medicine. Our students can either choose a 7-month weekday or a 12-month weekend massage program. These programs are designed to complement the schedule of students with full-time employment. The coursework at Northwest Academy prepares our students to find employment opportunities in a wide variety of professional settings, such as: athletic training facilities, spas and resorts, hospitals, chiropractic offices, birthing centers, medical offices, wellness centers, airports, cruise ships, and private practice. Our students study a variety of massage therapy techniques, as well as communication skills, professional ethics and business management. Our on-site student massage clinic, located in the West Seattle Whole Health Center, gives students the opportunity to hone their massage and professional skills while working with individuals from our community.
