Description

Ocean Beauty Portland began as Portland Fish Company in 1910 on the water front of downtown Portland. Originally founded by the Jensen family, the company was (and still is today) a major distributor and processor of local fresh and frozen seafood products, receiving fresh salmon and tuna by boat delivered to the dock during the season. They would also receive daily rail cars of fresh oysters from the Oregon coast to be sold fresh at the local markets. The plant also served as a cannery for finfish and oysters. Times have changed, in 1974 the company was incorporated into the Ocean Beauty family of companies. Ocean Beauty is a premier supplier of fresh and frozen seafood products in the Pacific Northwest.
