SUPREME VENTURES CONSOLIDATES ITS GAMING LOUNGE OPERATIONS Supreme Ventures (SVL) announced yesterday, plans for consolidation of its gaming lounge operations. The Company will focus all its energies on the flagship gaming lounge – Acropolis Barbican, with enhancements to the Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) offerings on the gaming floor, injection of more promotions and hospitality activities for gamers and excellent customer service for its valued customers. In light of the new focus in the gaming lounge operations, Brian George – President & CEO of SVL said: “We will close operations today at the Odyssey Gaming Lounge at Market Place in Kingston and the Castle Gaming Lounge VLT operations, in Portmore. However, the Lottery and Sports Betting Unit at the facility in Portmore will remain open for normal business operations.” The consolidation will result in a reallocation of staff and other resources to meet the expanded needs at Acropolis Barbican. However, approximately 20 positions will be made redundant, after a reallocation of staff resources to meet the new needs at Acropolis Barbican. George added: “This has been a difficult decision for us but the management team was charged with the task of eliminating the continued losses in the VLT operations.” George said: “We will focus our energies on the continued development of the profitable Acropolis Gaming Lounge, which will over the next two to three months see the expansion of the gaming floor, along with greater focus on improving the customer experience through wider game options, increased payouts and improved food & beverage offerings.” The Company reported in its nine-month unaudited financial statements as at 30th September 2014 that the VLT operations generated $313M in revenue, which represented a decline of $75.96M when compared to the corresponding period in 2013. The VLT operations continue on track for further losses to year end. Given the realities of the Gaming industry, the Company does not see a positive outlook for eliminating the losses at the Odyssey and Castle gaming lounges.
