This day in history – January 28, 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred. Did you know that prior to coming to Odyssey, Roy Truman (Senior Vice President and Director of Marine Operations) was the Program Manager for the US Navy Supervisor of Salvage and the Project Manager for the recovery of the solid booster rocket debris from the Space Shuttle Challenger? His team found the matching pair of rocket casings that contained the burn through where the O-ring failed. We’re very proud of our team for the extraordinary work they do here every day and for their incredible achievements in the deep-ocean before joining our team!
