ODSI promotes the retention and academic success of underrepresented and first generation college students in USC Dornsife.
The Office for Diversity and Strategic Initiatives supports a variety of programs that are geared to engage a diverse USC undergraduate student population in community involvement, undergraduate research, internships and study abroad opportunities. Undergraduate programs include Trojan Guardian Scholars; Posse Scholars Program; History in a Box; Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship; Japan Summer Immersion Program; Sophomore Seminar--SSEM 200; First Generation College Student Task Force at USC; First Generation College Student Parent Program; and First Generation College Student Conference. ODSI also promotes the successful recruitment, advancement, and placement of diverse Ph.D students through innovative programs aimed at enhancing the diversity and careers of Dornsife Ph.D. students. Graduate programming includes the Dornsife Postdoctoral Program and the Black Ph.D. Student Forum.
