We open the doors to an affordable place to call home by helping Ohioans with low- to moderate-incomes purchase homes or find quality, affordable housing.
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) facilitates the development, rehabilitation and financing of low- to moderate-income housing. The Agency also funds fixed-rate mortgage loans to help Ohioans purchase homes. OHFA’s programs serve home buyers, renters, senior citizens and other populations with specific needs. The Agency also helps property managers maintain safe, affordable housing environments through its compliance programs. OHFA monitors more than 1,000 multifamily properties throughout the state to ensure residents have a quality place to live. In addition, OHFA administers the state’s foreclosure prevention program, Save the Dream Ohio. Funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Hardest Hit Fund, the program was created to help Ohio homeowners who are struggling to make their monthly house payments or facing foreclosure due to a financial hardship. Since its creation, OHFA has made affordable mortgage loans to more than 143,000 Ohioans and facilitated the creation of more than 89,000 affordable rental housing units.
