Description

I am a clinical social worker providing individual, couple and family counselling for a wide array of concerns. The foundation of my practice is client-centred and relational. I firmly believe that for therapy to be most effective, a relationship must be established between the client and counsellor. I have over 14 years experience in working with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting skills, sexuality, aging, and health concerns My expertise is in trauma work related to sexual abuse and assault, domestic violence, accidents, and traumatic grief, primarily with adults. This special interest in trauma work led me to obtain my trauma certificate in 2011 from The Hincks Dellcrest Centre Gail Appel Institute. I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OASWSSW) and a registered social worker in the province of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Therapy is customized for each and every client based upon your needs and preferences. The treatment modalities (therapeutic methods) I use include attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Diaclectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), emotionally-focused family system therapy, the Gottman method, psychodynamic relational therapy, and trauma-focused therapy.
