OED is a wholesale distributor of Outdoor Power Equipment in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our primary brands are ECHO, Shindaiwa, Bear Cat, Wright, Billy Goat. Outdoor Equipment Distributors, Inc. was originally founded in 1931 as Raleigh Auto Supply. The purchase of twenty-five lawnmowers in 1955 changed the history of our company. Other opportunities arose to sell similar products and OED converted entirely to the distribution of outdoor power equipment through independent retail dealers. In 1969 we changed our name to Outdoor Equipment Distributors, Inc. to more accurately reflect the nature of our business. We currently service over 500 independent dealers across our sales territory.

We sell to independent retail dealers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. OED provides premium outdoor power equipment, accessories, and replacement parts for discerning homeowners, lawn maintenance contractors, landscape and arborist businesses, and government agencies. We also provide back up support for our products with our factory-trained technical service personnel, customer service, and sales and marketing support. As a family-owned business, Outdoor Equipment Distributors recognizes the value of independent dealers and long-term relationships.
