PDS distribute the Curea Medical LiquiMat range. German design and engineering has allowed the development of super absorbent polymer gel mats, which are suitable for all operating theatres and procedures which require or produce large amounts of fluids. It is a super absorbent mat, perfect for absorbing fluids (water, saline and blood etc) which may present a problem during a range of theatre procedures, so creating a dryer and safer surgical environment, and is a vital part of an improved Fluid Control Management Protocol. The LiquiMat is able to absorb up to 8.5 litres of water due to the super absorbent polymer gel technology within its’ patented core. In addition, the design of the mat is such that the fluids being absorbed are locked in to the mat’s core, thus making the cleaning up and removal of the mats after a procedure quick, easy and most importantly hygienic and therefore reduces the risk of any infections. It is also a great product to reduce the risk of slips and falls by your staff and patients. The product features: Absorbs 8.5 litres of water or 3.5 litres of 0.9% saline solution. Absorbs blood and urine. Binds fluids inside, without leaking Absorbs from both sides. Traps fluids immediately on contact. Only a few millimetres thick. Reduces the use of suction bags. Durable construction against high pressure. Easy handling and disposal. All this is achieved by the SuperCore® technology. It is free from synthetic glues or binders. With the elimination of raw materials that are non-absorptive, e.g. latex, SuperCore’s performance is superior to conventional airlaid mats.
