Description

A GRAND HOME ON GRAND AVENUE World famous beer baron Frederick Pabst chose the site for his new home on a tree-lined thoroughfare and, when completed in 1892, the Pabst Mansion represented new levels of sophistication in design. Over the next one hundred years the Mansion witnessed the rich history of the city of Milwaukee and has remained a constant in a changing urban landscape. Today the Pabst Mansion stands as one of Milwaukee’s great architectural landmarks. This award-winning historic museum boasts stunning interiors, elegant original furnishings, elaborate wall coverings, exceptional wood craftsmanship, intricate ironwork, brilliant stained glass, and an impressive fine arts collection. Internationally known, the PABST MANSION represents the epitome of America’s Gilded Age splendor in Milwaukee. Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion, Inc. is a private, non-profit historic museum dedicated to the restoration of the Pabst Mansion and the preservation of the Pabst family legacy and their impact on the history and culture of the Greater Milwaukee community.
