Description
The program is 2 years in length, beginningwith the start of the medical school academic year in August. Students take most of the first year basic science courses in the School of Medicine alongside medical students. The first year provides a graduate level background in cell & molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, human anatomy & physiology, microbiology, immunology, & pathology. In the second year, students train on clinical rotations with Pathology Department faculty & staff, including off-site locations. To train academically qualified individuals to become allied health professionals who provide surgical pathology and autopsy pathology services under the direct supervision of a board certified pathologist
