Description

Losing a pet is a very difficult circumstance, followed by the feelings of grief and loss. This occurs to at least 1.9 million people who opt to get their beloved pet cremated in the United States. With this difficult time, many stories are left forgotten when time passes. This is where Paws Forever came to life in Minnesota. The concept of Paws Forever started in the summer of 2007. Jake, the co-founder of Paws Forever lost his rescued pitbull/beagle mix named Arthur. A year and half passed and he adopted another rescue from the Hurricane Katrina disaster named Eleanor. After two years having Eleanor they found a mass behind her ear and had decided to lay her to rest. After losing both dogs, Jake was bothered having the remains stuck in a cardboard box, showing disrespect towards his two friends he lost. With tools and machinery available at a sign shop, where Jake worked at, he created his first urn in memory for Arthur. After the passing of Eleanor, he sought areas of improvement from his first urn and created a second urn for Eleanor. Since than, Jake rescued another beagle named Milo. Jake is happy to say he hasn’t had to build any more urns. He enjoys everyday with Milo, this is his third rescued pup and will always be a proud rescued parent. Today, these custom urns are on display in his home. These unique art pieces grasp visitor’s attention and is always asked, why don’t you share your story and create more handcrafted urns to others? With that idea in Jake's mind, a co-worker told him how the sign company wants to go greener and reuse their scraps. Jake knew at this point, in 2014, to launch his urns with the owner of the sign shop, they called it Paws Forever. Since than, Jake has created a full arrange of unique shapes, colors, and sizes. Paws Forever now uses all reused and recycled materials. Paws Forever stands by their quality, as each urn is custom made to your pet’s memories.
