Lately I've been getting a lot of question on how I do my hair or my hair routine. I'm not a hairstylist or hair guru or anything but I've spent a lot of years, like most female with my hair type, trying to figure this thing out and it's pretty much like a science lol. My hair routine has changed drastically over the years and so has my hair texture. I feel my hair texture continues to change as I become more dedicated to this routine. Anyhow, let me just get to it. Here's my step by step, and no I will not be doing any videos lol. *I wash and condition my hair once a week and usually at night. I'm not particular about shampoo's and conditioners, I just try to stick to moisturizing formulas. *I only comb my hair in the shower after I've let the conditioner sit in my hair for a couple minutes. *After I shampoo and condition I wring out as much excess water (I know this is a big no no for curly hair but it's what works for me) as I can and secure in a bun with a clip. *I immediately wrap my hair in a towel when I get out of the shower to soak up more excess water. I have a special towel that I only use for my hair, idk if it's out of habit or if the towel really does something lol. *** If your hair is dry and damaged you may want to skip the wringing of your hair. My hair is pretty healthy so it holds a lot of water and can stay wet for pretty much most of the day.*** I let my hair sit in the towel just long enough to lotion my body. *I take my hair down and finger comb it and then apply a quarter sized amount of jojoba oil to my ends first, then a quarter sized amount to my hair line and scalp. If it's a particularly dry day (or if you know your hair is more dry) then I apply coconut oil throughout. *If it's the evening I will put it up in a bun or 2 braids and sleep on it, I DO NOT need ANY product in the morning if it's done this way. Maybe a little more jojoba oil on top of my head and hairline but that's it, n the longer you wear the braids or bun (2 days) the better! If it's a morning wash then I'm going to need a little product to face the world after a fresh wash and a little leave in condition cream will do the trick. Right now I'm favoring Cantu's Shea Butter for Natural Hair Moisturizing curl activator cream, I apply and let air dry. Welp! That's how I've been doing my hair lately! Gels and mousse are out of the question for me now because I'm seeing such good result from my hair with this method. I hope this helps anyone who has asked about my routine!!
