Immerse yourself in history in the Birthplace of America when you stay at Penn’s View Hotel, a Penn’s Landing hotel nestled on the Delaware River. This historic downtown Philadelphia hotel was built in 1828 and has enjoyed many incarnations, beginning as a shipping warehouse serving Philadelphia’s docks throughout the 19th Century. As trade on the Delaware River dwindled and the city grew, the Penn’s View building evolved and enjoyed a new life as a hardware store, then a coffee house throughout the 1950’s. Finally, the building was purchased by the Sena family in 1989 and was transformed into one the most luxurious hotels near downtown Philadelphia. After careful planning and renovations were complete, Penn’s View Hotel opened its doors to guests in the early 1990’s. The hotel began with just 27 guest rooms and one dining room and bar. Over the years, innumerable guests have enjoyed the Penn’s Landing accommodations and over time the hotel expanded to encompass three buildings that include 49 guest rooms, two suites and a delectable onsite restaurant and wine bar, Panorama.
