Any updates on your progress? My family is so excited about the return of Pennington's!!!
Anything happening? Where are you???
Anxious to have update on all that's going on with Pennington's; was a part of my life for a couple of decades!!
What is the status of the grand opening?
Its been along time since we have heard anything? What's new?
Why hasn't there been any more updates??!?
I wish Pennington's was back in Brookside.
So what's the latest news? I sure would like to order some of your butterfly shrimp....never found any as good.
My Mother worked there in the late 60's she raised 3 children i remember her getting 1 piece of the black bottom pie and bringing it home for us 3 to share!! WE loved that pie also the shrimp and onion rings!! As i grew into a teenager i still loved the food there! When i got pregnant with my 1st son i would stop there for that same kind of pie!!
Been a couple of months with no news, have you given up?

Quick question... Although the only pie that was ever offered was the BB pie, we did have cobblers, I'm considering adding two different kinds of pie , because not everyone is a chocolate fan. My thought is to add Strawberry Bottom and Banana Bottom to the menu as a way to give fans who don't like chocolate other options. Please let me know if there are any other items that you would like to see on the menu, please let me know. Any additions to the menu will be taken into consideration by the family. Please let me now what you think. Thanks, Mark
John Roberts - Pennington's Family Restaurants Recently the Tulsa Edison class of 1965 held their 50 year reunion. How important was Pennington's to our high school experience? Well, we recreated the sign and placed it at the entrance to the hospitality room where all of our class memorabilia was on display. If you went to Edison or Memorial in the 60's, Pennington's was ground zero for the Restless Ribbon.

Hello everyone. It's been a few week so I thought that I would give everyone an update. First of all, I would like to express my extreme gratitude for the unbelievable response to the page. Thank you so much for all of your likes, comments, shares, stories, pictures, etc. I simply cannot express how much it means to us. The wonderful fans of Pennington's Family Restaurants have shown that the demand for Pennington's is still very much alive and very strong. Thank you, thank you. That was step one; seeing how much demand was still there. With your awesome help, I think it's obvious that our fans want us back in business. Step two gets a little more in depth. I have decided that a drive-inn must be the first restaurant built. I have other ideas, but the drive-inn must be first. Now that I am able to show the demand, I am busy behind the scene working on the vast details necessary to put a deal together, pick a location and everything else that goes along with jumpstarting a company. I have not given up and because of your support I surely will not give up at this point. I have personally read every comment and story and responded to as may my fingers would allow. This is not going to be a short process, but it will be worth it in the end. Don't give up on me and I promise I won't give up on making this happen. I'll be in town the week of 11/16 to do interviews with 2,6 and 8. All I ask is that you keep spreading the word about the page. I need as much support as we can get. As I mentioned before, it is the support of our wonderful fans that are going to help make this happen. I can't say a lot about what is happening in the feed, but if anyone has any questions that are more of a private nature, please message me. Sorry to ramble, but you have all been so kind that I felt you deserved an update. Again, spread the word and keep the suggestions coming. Many have had great ones and I'm making a list. Thank you everyone. Keep up the support. It's gonna happen one way or another. Thank you. Mark
Any updates on the new Pennington's???
Please don't locate out in the 71st or further areas in all those jungles of wall-to-wall businesses. All new restaurants put in way out south. Find a midtown spot.
Ok it's been about 3 weeks with no post
I could write PLEASE a gazillion times and it would not be enough...but PLEASE open Pennington's up again in Brookside!!! I have wanted to blow up the restaurant that moved in when you left, a million times!!! Please!!!
I think I worded that last post poorly. We are committed to leaving the base menu items the same. Sorry for the poorly worded comment. After careful thought, the comment is: Pennington's has always served, and if we build another drive-inn, will continue to serve Pepsi products. However, because we care so much about what our fans want, we would be willing to add Coke to the menu if enough fans would like a Coke with their Whiz Burger. We will not drop Pepsi. Period. Only asking if some fans wanted Coke as an option. I think several fans are correct in suggesting both be offered and that is possible. Thank you very much and sorry for the confusion. Again, we are 100% committed to not changing the base menu AT ALL! Thank you all. We have the greatest fans. Thanks. Mark
Coke or Pepsi. My brother and I wave been discussing this part of the menu. We're not sure why Pepsi was always the flavor of choice. However, because we are 100% fan driven as far as giving them what they want. Please tell us your thoughts. We're considering a change to Coke, but not unless that is what the fans want. This would be a significant change. Your comments and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mark
Yes, the first picture is my father in law, Bob Lassiter. Still living in Tulsa. Jennifer Lassiter
In preparation for an upcoming interview, the great folks at Channel 2 sent me these pictures from 1983. A rare look into the Pennington's kitchen, but most important a picture of the sweetest and kindest grandmother anyone could ever ask for. Lola Pennington. Enjoy. Mark
