The Nursery offers a range of stimulating activities for children from 2 to 5 years of age, encouraging them to learn through carefully constructed play. We are regularly inspected by OFSTED to include all aspects of our early years provision. Early Years is about children developing important social skills, learning to share, taking turns,developing language and interacting with others. We take children from 2 years of age. At Perton Village Nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years of age. The aim of the Early Years Foundation Stage is to help young children achieve the Every Child Matters outcomes: Staying Safe, Being Healthy, Enjoying and Achieving, Making a Positive Contribution and Achieving Economic Well-being. We sensitively plan activities around every child’s individual needs. During your child’s first half-term of attendance you will be invited to meet with your child’s key worker to discuss how they have settled. Staff will talk you through their “My Story” which will become a celebration of their achievements with written observations and photographs. This is then passed on to your child’s next setting to give them an overview of your child and their progress. Perton Village Nursery hopes that you and your child enjoy being members of the Nursery and that you find both taking part in our activities interesting and stimulating. Our fully qualified staff are always ready and willing to talk with you about your ideas, views or questions. Pre School offers children a range of stimulating activities for children, encouraging them to learn through carefully constructed play. We plan the children's activities carefully, based on the Foundation Stage Curriculum which prepares them for Key Stage One at school. We take children from the term following their 3rd birthday and it is fully funded from the government. Children are encouraged to gain independence, learn social skills, make friends, express themselves creatively and develop an understanding in early reading and writing concepts. Our fully qualified staff are always ready and willing to talk with you about your ideas, views or questions. The Pre School has a key person system. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she is particularly responsible. Your child's key person will work with you to ensure that what the Nursery provides is right for your child's particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the Nursery she will help your child to settle and will help your child to fully benefit from the Nursery activities.
