We took Apollo to the dog park today in Allen. He had so much fun romping around with some new found friends. The Allen Dog Park is a wonderful place to socialize your pup. It is well maintained with lots of wood chips to cover up muddy spots, over 300 hackberry trees to protect everyone from the summer heat, and lots of benches and tables for the human visitors. What I find is that for the majority of people taking their pooches to this dog park are well versed on doggie manners and don't let their pups run wild. A fun time was had by all. Of course then a trip to Petco so Apollo could pick out his treats was the icing on the cake.
Filling up for Winter Break. If you are traveling and would like a perfect home for your furry buddy, call us ASAP. 972-424-8400. Thank you all to our wonderful guests and their hosts. Could not do it without you,
Thanks again for all your help! I know we have said it before, but it is really nice knowing that Bossco & Mattie are in familiar and safe hands! Happy Valentine's Day, too! A nice note from one of our families.
Spring Break is around the corner and not soon enough. The trees are starting to bud but are very confused. Just when the temps climb the 50s, we are hit with some freezing rain and low temps. At least we are not east of Atlanta. Check out our website, http://www.petsareinn2.com/ and look at the blog
Be A Host Family We are always looking for good, quality pet-loving homes to care for our clients' pets. We want to make sure that all pets have a safe and fun vacation while their 2-legged owners are traveling. Owners will be able to travel without the guilt and have the peace of mind knowing that their pets are in a home that truly loves pets. And yes you even get paid for your companionship and sweet care of your guests. All new clients go through an interview with Al or Donna to make sure your guest will be a good guest. If you love pets and either want a playmate for your pup or if you have lost a pup and do not want one full time, this is perfect opportunity to give love and TLC to a pet that will love you back on a part time basis. Pros: No vet bills, no food bills, you can go on your own vacation without extra expense, you have the companionship of a pup to love and will love you back. Cons: When the family returns from their vacation you have to give back your guest. A win win for all Donna and Al
Streets are a sheet of glass but there are a few crackers out there including Al driving the Pets Are Inn van. New motto, "Neither rain, sleet, or snow stops Pets Are Inn from doing their job". Drive carefully, Al.
We are looking for additional host families. If you or a friend have an interest, give us a call. Very rewarding for dog lovers. 972-424-8400
Summer is here and the temps are rising. A reminder to keep plenty of fresh water for our furry kids. They can easily become over heated. Dogs and cats do not perspire like humans so, so the cool off through their to tongues. Often I see pets with their "summer" cuts where they are shaved really close. Actually they need their coats to protect them from the heat. It is their insulation against the heat. Another tip for short hair pets. Their skin can become sunburned if they are out too long in the sun. Protect your best friends from the weather. They will appreciate your concerns.
Today is a very sad day at Pets Are Inn. We learned that two of our fur babies crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will always remember Maggie and Susie. This this the hardest part of our business. We become so close to our guests and when they cross that bridge, it brings tears to our eyes. If you have lost a dear friend, please add a comment .
https://www.facebook.com/Mimi.Baron/posts/10207430287182470 Meet Sofi, an English Cream Retreiver. Ships as good as she is beautiful. We've gone on 3 walks today, one of them this early evening when it was nice and cool. Sofi will be vacationing with Al and I for a week.

Roxy is going home today and I am sad. She was a special pup.
To all friends of Donna, Al, and Apollo. This week was a very sad week for our family. We lost our dear, sweet, and kind Big Boy. Fortunately for Apollo, he did not suffer. His only ailment was arthritis in his hips and other than that he was a healthy pup. Monday Apollo and I went for our usual walk in the neighborhood near our office. We did not get far when he stumbled on the sidewalk. After a few minutes of unsuccessfully trying to help him up, he rolled on his side. What seemed like an eternity, as I petted him and spoke to him, Apollo took his last breath and slipped away. For everyone who has lost their steady companion, you can relate to how empty our lives are at this time. Apollo is now romping with his friends who have preceded him over the Rainbow Bridge. In sadness, Donna and Al
