Since opening our doors in 1972, we at Philadelphia Women's Center have shared one common goal: to provide women with confidential, dignified and compassionate abortion and reproductive health care. The choice to terminate a pregnancy is one of the most private and difficult decisions a woman may make. We recognize that no two women are the same and are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of every woman. Our Mission: • To exceed expectations in women’s health care and set the standard for dignified, confidential reproductive health services • To treat each woman as a whole person, addressing her physical and emotional needs so that she can make meaningful, informed health care decisions • To educate our community about the importance of comprehensive reproductive health care in order to increase understanding of the complexity of reproductive health care decisions

How To Get to Philadelphia Women's Center

Public Transportation (for more detailed information, or to check schedules, go to www.septa.org) Subway via the Market/Frankford El East or Westbound, get off at the 8th Street stop; exit to street level at 8th and Market Street. Strawbridge’s and Ross department stores will be on the corner of the north side of Market St. Cross Market Street and travel 1 block north along 8th Street toward Arch Street (8th Street is one-way and you will be walking against the flow of traffic). Appletree Street is located ½ block north of Arch, just past the parking lot on the right-hand side. Trolley and Regional Rail Take one of the green line trolleys to the last stop (Juniper Station/13th St.) and exit to street level. Walk east on Market Street (street numbers will decrease) approximately 5 blocks to 8th Street. Follow directions above. Or Take one of the regional rail lines to Market East Station, and exit to street level (onto Market Street). Walk east on Market Street (street numbers will decrease) to 8th Street. Follow directions above. Or Transfer from one of these lines to the EL (Market-Frankford Blue Line) and ride to 8th and Market Streets. Exit at the street level and follow directions from above. Bus via SEPTA Take all bus routes (East/West) to 8th and Market Streets. Follow directions above.
