Piper High School.....Home of the Pirates
Piper High School is serving a learning community of 535 students. We are the only high school in USD #203, which encompasses 32 square miles of Western Wyandotte County in Kansas City, Kansas. The student population of USD #203 is 1800 students. Our staff in comprised of 40 certified staff and over 15 non-certified staff. The teachers, administrators, and support staff of Piper High School provide an excellent learning environment which allows students to explore, achieve, believe, dream, and excel with responsibility and integrity. We are proud of our accomplishments! Recently, we were once again awarded the Standard of Excellence by the Kansas Board of Education for excellence in Math and Reading. Our ACT results remain in the top 10% of all metro schools, and continue to improve. Our students have the opportunity to take a rigorous curriculum, which includes Advanced Placement courses as well as dual-credit community college courses. We will have students that graduate in 2012 with as many as 26 college hours that they have earned through our dual-credit program at Piper High School. As a proud member of the Kaw Valley League, our student-athletes have a wide array of opportunities to compete with other fine schools in the metro area. Classified as a 4A school by KSHSAA, our teams have been very successful in state playoffs. We have several organizations to offer our students. Key Club, Robotics, PGAA, Student Council are some of our largest student organizations. We feel our student body is second to none and are fortunate to have the opportunity to work together everyday in order to achieve! We ARE Piper!

~!A reminder.... No School on Oct. 19 - Professional Development. Parent / Teacher Conferences on Wednesday October 24 from 3:30 - 7pm. School will be dismissed at 10:35 on Thursday Oct. 25. Parent / Teacher conferences will begin at noon and end at 5:30pm. No school on Friday Oct. 26.
~Homecoming will be Oct. 12 vs. Atchison, game time is 7pm. King and Queen crowning will take place at 6:35pm. KVL Youth football and youth cheerleaders will also participate in the pre-game festivities. KVL Youth football players and cheerleaders wearing their jersey/outfit will be admitted free with a paying adult. Parents of youth players/cheerleaders, in their jersey/outfit, will receive a reduced admission of $3 (limit two adults per player/cheerleader). The 4A State Champion Girls 4x100 Meter Relay team and 4A State Champion Golf Team will be recognized at half time.
Congratulations, on your soccer teams’ accomplishment this year. Piper High School is extremely excited about hosting the 2012 4A Boys State Soccer championship games.

Above state and national averages The 2012 ACT results have been released. Piper High School once again has scored above state and national averages on the Composite Score. Piper Composite is a 22.1. The State Composite is 21.9. The National Composite is 21.1. The Composite score for students who take four or more math, social science and science classes is a 22.8. Students who take less than the above mentioned classes have an average Composite Score of 18.1. With our increased rigor and additional courses that are available, we encourage students to maximize their potential and preparation for the ACT their junior (spring semester) and senior year.
