From Deputy City Manager LaShon Ross..."Following a very collaborative effort, Sam Greif (Fort Worth Fire Department) has been selected to join the City of Plano as Fire Chief and will step into his new role on August 3, 2015. Transitioning from thirty (30) years of service with Fort Worth will take time; so, Chief Greif will begin meeting with Plano staff and acquainting himself with our processes. He and I are scheduled to meet this week, and he will have a regular presence in Plano between now and August 3." Congratulations Chief Greif and welcome to Plano!

Today, Mayor LaRosiliere washed a fire truck after he lost a challenge to Plano Fire-Rescue. All for a good cause and in good fun! The money raised from the Fill-the-Boot campaign benefits Muscular Dystrophy Association of Dallas. #PlanoProud

As part of National EMS Week, we would like to remind you about how simple it is for a child drowning to occur. It is also simple to prevent. Supervising children in or near the water is crucial. It's National EMS Week and one of the most important aspects of getting help in a medical emergency is knowing how to call 911. Our friends at Plano 911 shared this great info.
We all know and love Officer Parker!
Did you know that almost 70% of the emergency calls made by Plano Fire-Rescue are for some type of medical emergency? Many of these medical calls involve an injury caused by a fall of some sort. During National EMS Week, please take a moment to review this great information from the CDC on preventing falls. http://www.cdc.gov/features/olderamericans/
