Introducing PLAY AT WORK™ A Music Enrichment program in partnership with The Dallas School of Music How many times have you heard someone say, “I wish I’d kept up my piano or guitar lessons,” or “I wish I could learn to sing, but I don’t have the time?” Well, we hear it every day! So we created the solution: PLAY AT WORK™! 1 EMPLOYEE ENRICHMENT – THE CONCEPT The research is in. A recent white paper submitted by the Maritz Institute, an organization dedicated to the study of human behavior, outlines the importance of employee enrichment to every company’s bottom line. Their findings indicate that the number of disengaged employees is a solid 20 percent. Meanwhile, of the top performers, 25 percent were actively looking for new jobs. Companies who engage in Employee Enrichment know that “people first” practices enrich the quality of life for their employees and, as a result, a better bottom line for the company. Simply put, people who are happier achieve better all-around outcomes, including professional satisfaction, physical health and longevity. Is this your company? 2 MUSIC – THE BENEFITS Many neuropsychologists agree that music lessons improve memory and brain function, no matter the age we begin studying music. It's never too late to gain benefits even if you didn't take up an instrument until later in life. For example, Jennifer Bugos, an assistant professor of music education at the University of South Florida, Tampa, studied the impact of individual piano instruction on adults between the ages of 60 and 85. After six months, those who had received piano lessons showed more robust gains in memory, verbal fluency, the speed at which they processed information, planning ability, and other cognitive functions, compared with those who had not received lessons. Therefore, we offer flexible options for your employees to study music in an environment that fits their (and your) needs. We come to you! Once per week (or more), we can set up in a conference room or private area of your choice at your company site. There, we can offer 30 minute piano, guitar, or voice lessons to those employees who are interested. We can also accommodate group piano or guitar lessons on-site for up to 6 people at a time. For those who cannot fit music study into their work day or may wish to study on a different musical instrument, we offer special private study packages for your employees AND their families in our Addison studios as a benefit of our partnership with your organization.
