Plymouth Ambulance Service has been providing emergency medical services to the City of Plymouth and Surrounding areas for over twenty years. On April 1, 1984, Plymouth Ambulance Service was started as a Basic Life Support ambulance after Wittkopp Ambulance decided to pull out of the ambulance industry. At the time, two ambulances serviced a 200 square mile service area had a call volume of 600 and 33 on-call EMT's. Currently for employment at Plymouth Ambulance we have 10 Full-time EMT's and Paramedics, and have 20 part time personnel.
Plymouth Ambulance Service responds to over 1300 incidents a year. We are a combination service utilizing full time and on call EMT's of all levels.

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants honors the 102 passengers who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620 at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) established itself as a non-profit in 1897. It is the mission of the Society to honor their Pilgrim ancestors who arrived in America aboard the Mayflower in 1620, and to join together the people who share this heritage. The Society has over 28,000 members around the world, with 52 societies representing all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. The national headquarters is in Plymouth, MA where the Society owns and operates a genealogy research library and the Mayflower Society House, an 18th century home originally built by Edward Winslow, a direct descendant of the pilgrim Edward Winslow, which is open for tours seasonally.
