Welcome to the official Pollo Feliz Chicago page. HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF PF HOLDING GROUP, INC. 1975 was the year when everything began. With time, we would become one of the concepts—after the invention of the hamburger—in the food industry to achieve major growth and success. GRILLED CHICKEN Everything began in Sinaloa, Mexico with the opening of a small business that featured a marinade recipe and a very particular grill technique. Both of these unique elements combined to make the product tender and flavorful. Today, these characteristics are synonymous with Pollo Feliz chicken. The first restaurant was so successful that growth was inevitable. As a result, the founder’s family members started opening more locations throughout Mexico with the same recipes, same techniques, and, ultimately, the same success. All of these businesses carried various names such as Pollo Giro (Giro Chicken), Pollo Real (Royal Chicken), and Pollo Feliz (Happy Chicken). Through family connections and the different businesses, a network of vendors, innovations, and marketing conditions were built, creating—little by little—a united business. As a result, in the beginning of 1990, the family decided to unify the business, creating one brand – Pollo Feliz. POLLO FELIZ By unifying the brand, the operators were able to establish greater buying power, a more effective marketing edge, and a greater advantage when seeking real estate opportunities. Also, the unified brand had more potential and credibility when looking to expand nationally and internationally. In 1991, as a result of the reorganization and unification, a company called Empresa Nacional De Pollos Asados S.A. (ENPASA) was born. This enterprise is the catalyst and foundation upon which the nationwide and international organizations were built and continues to move forward. Once unified, the brand totaled 100 restaurants. Today, the brand has consistently grown and remained organized. It reaches several states of the Mexican Republic as well as the USA, and together—as of today—has over 600 locations in operation.
