The Portland Rose Society’s vision is to continue the tradition of encouraging all rose lovers to grow and show the best of roses for the enjoyment of the citizens of Portland. The Portland Rose Society was established in 1888 by Mrs. Georgina Pittock, the wife of the first Oregonian publisher, and some of her neighbors and friends. It is the oldest rose society in the United States.

We are America's First Rose Society which was established in 1889 with over125 years of service. We are Affiliated with the American Rose Society. To encourage rose lovers to grow and show the best of roses for the enjoyment of the citizens of Portland.
