The PRCA Championship Rodeo Camp Series, launched in 2009, is proving to be a successful and exciting addition to PRCA’s membership recruiting program. This nationwide endeavor is geared toward providing free learning opportunities for those interested in pursuing the sport of professional rodeo, aimed at the rough stock events currently. The target audience is those starting out that have had little or no direction in rodeo or those that have been competing in rodeo and want to further learn about fundamentals from PRCA champions.
Camp curriculum includes an introduction to roughstock events with an emphasis on safety, fundamentals, chute procedures, livestock safety, overview of riding equipment, injury prevention and management, fitness and nutrition, introduction to PRCA business and goal setting. Campinstructors encourage participants to strive to meet their goals both in and out of the arena as they pursue rodeo careers and scholastic endeavors. Providing a fun, educational and positive rodeo experience.
