Thanks to all our P6 and P7 pupils (and their parents) who braved the wind and rain yesterday morning to represent the school football team - especially the P6 pupils who had been away at camp all week and still found the energy to play! Great commitment from all concerned!
Our P6 campers have just crossed the Forth Road Bridge - safe and sound, happy, full or breakfast and utterly exhausted! We expect them to arrive at school around 11:15 - 11:30.
Congratulations to the P7 pupils who put in a fantastic performance at last night's James Gillespie's High School concert. The pupils received a special mention during the vote of thanks for their enthusiasm and talents, and feedback from the Gillespie's music department was very positive. We are very proud of all our young people who represented the school so brilliantly. Sorry there are no official pictures, although the P7s made up for it with plenty of 'unofficial' backstage selfies!
Our P7 pupils will be performing tonight at the James Gillespie's High School 'Spring Fling' concert. This takes place at Marchmont St Giles' Church, Kilgraston Road and starts at 7pm. Tickets are available on the door. Best wishes to all our performers!
P6 have safely arrived at Dalguise and have enjoyed a busy first day involving climbing, crawling blindfolded and playing on a giant swing, all in a mixture of sunshine and snow... The pupils are very much looking forward to their first full day of activities tomorrow. Pictures to follow.
A busy sporting weekend for pupils at Preston Street - our basketball club are attending the South Edinburgh Schools' Basketball League this afternoon at the Crags, and our football team are playing against St Catherine's PS tomorrow morning. All the best to all our senior pupils who will be representing the school.
Parents from Bilingual Families wanted for help with research project - Sarah Hampton, a research student at Edinburgh University, is conducting interviews with parents from bilingual families, as part of her study into the choices which these parents face in raising their children. (You don't need to have bilingual children - just be a bilingual family.) Please contact Sarah at email@example.com if you wish to help out. *Please share this with any parents whom you think might be interested.*
Please remember, pupils return to school on MONDAY 23rd February at the usual time. (High school pupils return on Tuesday 24th February.)

The football season starts next Saturday 29th August for our new P5, P6 and P7 football teams. Details will be given out next week to all interested pupils. Our girls' football section will also start up in the next couple of weeks. Please note that we urgently require adult helpers in order to run our football teams. In particular, we are looking for parents who would be willing to give a couple of hours on Saturday mornings in order to help out at matches. Please contact us if you are able to help in any way!
