Description

I was fortunate to serve as County Judge of Parker County, Texas and presided over the Commissioners Court, County Criminal Court, County Civil Court, the Juvenile Court, and the commitment of alcoholics and mentally ill. I was the youngest Texas County Judge to serve at that time. I was later appointed by Governor Dolph Briscoe to serve on the Texas Civil Judicial Council which reviewed and initiated all court related legislation to the Texas Legislature. I was the youngest member to ever serve and the only non-lawyer to ever serve. I served as president of the Weatherford,Texas Jaycees and served as a State Director for the Texas Jaycees. The Jaycees awarded me as "Outstanding Young Man in Parker County". I served on the Board of the North Central Texas Council of Governments which coordinated and approved all Federal Funds allocated to the cities, counties, and schools in the North Central Texas area. I served on the North Texas Board for Mental Health, the North Texas Board for Alcoholism, The George Fant Foundation, the Approval of Eagle Scout Candidates Committee and other government boards and charities. I was guest speaker at the National Council of Juvenile Court Judges as founder of the Parker County Youth Council, a court operated service club that provided volunteer juvenile probation officers, tutors, foster families, and psychologist for juvenile offenders. During my tenure as County Judge, Parker County built the Campbell Memorial Hospital, an Industrial Park, construction of Santé Fe Drive, a major thoroughfare, and the Parker County Committee on Aging. After leaving the Court House I have been in the real estate investment business. I discovered the Reverse Mortgagein 2003 and was amazed. I placed one on my personal home, then my family and friends, and it became my passion. I have been President of PrimeSource Reverse Mortgage since 2004. I still speak regularly to church and service groups about Reverse Mortgages and Courthouse Experiences.
