Congratulations to coaches Peter Serwan, Richard Thorne and all the boys in the Intercollegiate Chess team who have had a terrific victory against St Peters tonight! The final score was a resounding 9-1. A terrific end to the Winter Intercollegiate season.
In further good news, Cameron Hewett (2015) was today drafted by Port Power in the National Rookie Draft. Cameron, who's brother George (2013) was drafted to the Sydney Swans, joins Aaron Francis (Essendon) and Riley Bonner (Port Power)in the AFL system. Cameron is a tall and athletic utility player who can have impact across half forward or in the midfield. He is very agile and super competitive around the contest. He began this years National Carnival strongly before being struck down with a wrist/hand injury, which stole away any chance of him completing the championships or the schools season. As such this is a great achievement for Cam and we wish him well next year and beyond!
