PACIFIC RACEWAYS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT. Please be a part of the solution, purswading King County Council to approve this needed growth at the track. Our race track once again needs our support in King County Council chambers. This is another chance for the track to move forward with upgrades. Take a look at this and give thought to attending. Pacific Raceways will have a hearing before the full King County Council on Monday, November 23 at 1:30 p.m. in King County Council Chambers on the 10th floor of the King County Courthouse 516 Third Avenue, Seattle 98104. The purpose of the meeting will be to determine if Pacific Raceways can move forward with its plan to develop a sustainable and improving model to continue as a regional motorsports facility. The plan before the Council would allow for the raceway to excavate gravel from Lot C and construct and lease buildings giving the track the financial capability to cover operational losses, to catch up with other motorsports venues around the country, and to increase the positive impacts to the region. If we want to keep and improve Pacific Raceways, this is our avenue. Our points to King County… · Pacific Raceways has been part of our regional culture for over half a century, and the fate of an industry and historic landmark is in the Council’s hands; · Pacific Raceways hosts over 300,000 people a year; · More than 100 local businesses survive in whole or in part because of the raceway, which translates into hundreds, if not thousands of jobs; · Pacific Raceways is an economic engine that is responsible for $100 million in regional economic impact; · The track is a regional training facility for law enforcement agencies throughout the Puget Sound region; · Pacific Raceways is the catalyst for hundreds of thousands of dollars a year raised for the Seattle Children’s Hospital, with more than $30 million raised; · A community with a healthy motorsports facility experiences less street racing accidents and deaths. Any personal story of how the raceway or its extensive history has had a positive impact personally or professionally would be helpful. Also, please let other constituents know about the meeting. Anyone wishing to attend or speak would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the representatives below and tell them how important PACIFIC RACEWAYS is to you!
