Puppy School is an established network of puppy training class tutors. At our puppy training classes, only kind, effective techniques are used and puppies are 'educated' to have good manners, be friendly with adults, children and other dogs.

Description

The age of puppies admitted into puppy school are from after full vaccination up to 20 weeks. Puppy school is run as a course and the course is a set of six classes. Newport puppy school classes are held at, Baneswell community centre, on Saturday mornings. Topics covered in class are as follows; Come when called, ‘sit, ‘down’, ‘stand’, walk on a loose lead, ‘wait’, ‘off’, socialization, how to greet humans appropriately, getting used to being handled, examined, hugged, lifted and grabbed by owners and strangers, food bowl, chew and bone manners. Only kind effective methods are used and no harsh methods are allowed in class. The classes are kept small, so as not to overwhelm the puppies and also to be able to give as much individual attention as possible. For this reason we ask people to book in advance, in order for you to be guaranteed a place. Children aged 4 and up are allowed to come to classes, and if possible it is nice to come to classes with the family. Handouts are given at the end of each class to help with training at home and on completion of the course you will receive a rosette and certificate. If you then decide to continue with your puppy's education, you can move onto the Junior course which is a 7 week course which will take you onto the next level of training.
