Queen’s Graduate Outfitters (QGO)
We are a graduate student-run organization with the goal of embodying Queen’s culture in the graduate student community through apparel they can proudly wear.
QGO provides customized merchandise for the Queen’s graduate and professional student community.
It started with our vision of making a difference and leaving a mark on the Queen’s graduate culture.
One evening, our founding fathers sat down together and discussed the idea of creating a jacket specifically designed for all Queen’s graduate students, as there had been no existing jacket to unify all graduate department.
Given the importance and pride of the jacket culture at Queen’s, it was surprising that no organization had been founded to provide this missing piece of Queen’s tradition to graduate students.
The founding fathers, Praphulla, Bowen, and Chris came up with designs and a marketing strategy for appealing yet economical jackets for grad students.
Through collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) and Queen's Licensing Office we were able to finalize the jacket design for our community.
Ratification of the club and financial support was received from SGPS for the sample jackets.
Within a few months, we were able to launch the QGO jackets.
We are proud to inform the graduate community past and present that now we have unified jackets for all the graduate students.
