QOV Greater Wichita Area awarded a total of 242 Quilts of Valor in 2014. Since our beginning in 2004/5 we have awarded 2067 QOVs overall. The sad part of t2014 is that approximately 20 QOVs (either kits or taken for binding/label) were never returned to our sewing bee - thus lost for this year.
From QOV Foundation - following are the totals for QOVS awarded in 2014: 1st quarter: 2,919 2nd quarter: 4,045 3rd quarter: 3,668 4th quarter: 6,741 1-1-2014 through 12-31-2014: 17,373 112,682 total Quilts Awarded It is so wonderful to see how many more volunteers are reporting the QOVs that are awarded to our military.
*******ALERT**********ALERT***********ALERT************* PLEASE READ: Our next sewing bee is the FIRST SATURDAY of DECEMBER (Dec. 6) - NOT THE SECOND. We make this change annually to fit in with the church's schedule. It is also our Potluck. Bring a covered dish to share if you want. Contact Teresa to check the list, as well. Thanks!!
We currently have 40 members who have paid their dues in the Greater Wichita Area Group. If you want to join QOVF as a member of the Greater Wichita Area Group, please contact me ASAP. If you choose not to join we will still appreciate your support to Quilts of Valor Foundation.
A quick update: We have individually awarded 168 QOVs so far this year. The number will go up over the next 2 weeks as I have made several more dates to award. I have not included any group awards.
The retreat was held in Stafford this weekend. Everyone had a great time and many QOVs are near completion. Check out pics at our Group page on FB. Dennis, Lynn & Teresa had a booth at the craft fair in Halstead also.
Our name has changed. We are now registered as: Quilts of Valor Greater Wichita Area. The change should better reflect our geographical area.

I am delighted to share with you as of the 19th day of January we have over 2500 members who have already joined and adding more everyday. To know that so many of you have added the support of membership to your dedication, is awesome. For those who will continue to volunteer, thank you for your support.
